Silent Prayer of Preparation: Can you draw out Leviathan with a hook?        -God to Job   Welcome Remember while we are in different places, God is always with us, Emmanuel.

Introit:   God is exalted, the king is exalted on high; I will praise Him. God is exalted, forever exalted and I will praise His name! He is the Lord; forever his truth shall reign. Heaven and earth rejoice in His holy name. God is exalted, the King is exalted on high.

Call to Worship:                    The Easter decorations are almost all put away, even the lawns are emptying of eggs.  Death, dread, despair are still in great supply.  Lord, let your light shine in us.  Because Christ is risen, risen INDEED! Let us worship God!

Hymn   Christ is risen! Shout Hosanna! Celebrate this day of days! Christ is risen! Hush is wonder: All creation is amazed. In the desert all surrounding, see, a spreading tree has grown. Healing leaves of grace abounding bring a taste of live unknown.

Prayer of Confession: (Unison) Power Lord, you promised that to the disciples after Easter, forgive us when we seek power over others. Help us to be empowered to serve you (please pray silently).   Lord, speak to us, help us to hear. Restore to us the joy of your salvation, in Christ we pray.  Amen.

Assurance of Pardon  Christ offers us life in his name!  Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia, in Christ we are forgiven and set free, all of us!   Response: Thine is the glory, Risen, conquering Son; Endless is the victory Thou o’er death hast won.

Prayer for peace God, speak your peace and grace quietly into our hearts and souls, there are those in great need, grant all of us peace, In Christ we pray.  Amen.   Prayer for Illumination:   Your word is Spirit and Life, O Lord, richer than gold, stronger than death, your word is Spirit and Life, O Lord, Life everlasting.

Sermon                 “You Will Receive Power”                                     Rev. Stuart C. Buisch

Creed                                                                                   -Tom Currie       We are called to confess our faith as the truth, the quite public truth that Jesus is Lord. The implication of this truth for social and political questions will, we think, always be a matter of debate. But we are not called to turn away from that debate so much as we are called to ‘speak the truth in love’ (Ephesians4:15), that is, to enter that debate precisely as a redemptive community, not as a special interest.

Hymn   Christ the Lord is risen again, Christ has broken every chain. Hark the angels shout for joy, singing evermore on high: Alleluia (4) Hark the angels shout for joy, singing evermore on high: Alleluia

Joys and Concerns/Prayers of the People/Lord’s Prayer    Please keep the congregation in your prayers. Thanks for sending cards and calling  on the phone those of our members and friends.

Hymn No more we doubt Thee, Glorious Prince of life! Life is naught without Thee: aid us in our strife. Make us more than conquerors, through Thy deathless love: bring us safe through Jordan to Thy home above. Thine is the glory, risen conquering Son; Endless is the victory Thou o’er death hast won.                                                   Charge   Power is so full of potential and oppression. God promised you power from God.  I charge you to check in with God in the depths of your soul each time power is used in you does it please God.    Benediction May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God and the community of the Holy Spirit be with us all evermore.  Amen.

Benediction Response              Because He lives I can face tomorrow, because he lives all fear is gone, because I know God holds the future and life is worth the living just because he lives.

Thank you to those who are giving tithes, offerings and gifts.

Thank you to Wally for mowing the lawn and repairing the shed behind the church.
Nancy Treichler contacted me and suggested that she would plant flowers around our sign and cannas in the area out front behind the sign but that for this year we limit the garden in that way. Perhaps interested persons could give money to food cupboards like TCCO either directly or through the church in lieu of buying gereniums.
