Sermon “Change Your Name” Rev. Stuart C. Buisch

Creed We trust in Jesus Christ, fully human, fully God. Jesus proclaimed the reign of God: preaching good news to the poor and release to the captives, teaching by word and deed and blessing the children, healing the sick and binding up the brokenhearted, eating with outcasts, forgiving sinners, and calling all to repent and believe the gospel. A Brief Statement of Faith

Hymn Come, Holy Spirit, heavenly Dove, with all thy quickening powers; kindle a flame of sacred love in these cold hearts of ours. Come, Holy Spirit, heavenly Dove, with all thy quickening powers; come, shed abroad a Savior’s love, and that shall kindle ours.

Joys and Concerns/Prayers of the People/Lord’s Prayer Keep praying for our church and world. Celebration of the Lord’s Supper

Hymn Spirit of God, bright wind, breath that bids life begin, blow as you always do; create us anew. Give us the breath to sing, lifted on soaring wing, held in your hands, borne on your wings. Ref: alleluia! Come, Spirit, come! (2) Spirit of God, bright hands, even in far off lands you hold all the human race in one warm embrace. No matter where we go, you hold us together so, held in your hands, borne on your wings. Ref: 2117

Charge How little is big, how big is little? Funny words. In this pandemic no doubt we sometimes have some pretty small feelings. But God is with us. Nothing is too big or too small when God is in us. Even the world, as we celebrated communion around the globe gets smaller.

Benediction May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God and the community of the Holy Spirit be with us all evermore. Amen.

Benediction Response O holy dove of God descending, you are the love that knows no ending, all of our shattered dreams you’re mending: Spirit, now live in me. Postlude “How Firm a Foundation” Colvin
