Exodus 16

Let us take a moment to look at manna. Exodus 16

'Look, I am going to rain down food from heaven for them.

The children of Israel were on route to the promised land.

They ran out of food and were on a long journey. They complained and God sent them manna, which literally means what is it?

By gathering every day but the sabbath they had 'bread' every day until they came to the promised land and then

they ate the food of the land.

Gathering every day gives the opportunity for thankfulness each day. This is lost on us who go to the store once or twice a week.

Gathering each day leaves no room for hoarding, as our Mennonite sisters and brothers remind us.

Gathering each day helps us to recognize that we can be all equal.
