Job 9: 33

New International Version

33 If only there were someone to mediate between us, someone to bring us together,O that there were a mediator between us; he would lay his hand on both of us,

What a curious pearl in the midst of a most troubling account. Here we have an individual who seems to do everything right. Well, his wife wasn't supportive of his belief in God but then we all deal with trauma differently. In a very short time everything changes. I wonder if Job 9:33 is some really significant foreshadowing of the necessity of Christ between God and humanity. Clearly God and Humanity are not the same - even if we have a large and growing body of people who think they are gods. This Lent let us celebrate the one who will lay his hand on both of us. Stu
