Matthew 26: 1-2
The human one will be handed over to be crucified. Jesus is so blatantly clear. Yet for me and clearly for the disciples the things he said seemed hard to comprehend.

Again we do not get the sound of his voice. There is no indication from the disciples that they are in disagreement or going to seek to stop it. Are they in shock? The variety of things that happen in our world that stop us cold seem to echo from the time of Christ. It is possible to know Christ's words and not accept the meaning. Can the Son of Man (human one) really be handed over without giving consent? Jesus knew that the spiritual course of humanity would be forever changed. Each of us has to decide what the crucifixion means for us. This lent I ask you to ponder it. If you don't have a Bible reading pattern spend some of this Lent reading and re-reading the final chapters of one or all four gospels.
The Plot Against Jesus
26 When Jesus had finished saying all these things, he said to his disciples, 2 “As you know, the Passover is two days away—and the Son of Man will be handed over to be crucified.”
