Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! - Philippians 4:4
Be glad in the Lord always! Again I say be glad.
older versions of this text are 'rejoice'. But that word is a church word but do we use it on the street?
If I said rejoice to you, you might know what I mean but would you think about the word.
Maybe a better word is be grateful. Don't take for granted anything. Look every day for something to be thank-filled for.
Being glad is not easy. In the midst of such death, despair, desperate views, such conflict, so many natural and unnatural
chaos.
So being grateful is a matter of the heart. It is a decision in the midst of something we can't see thanks in deciding to look.
At one time folk in the church were grateful because the next life would be better. We can be grateful now because of that
and because of God working in us.
