I am quite preoccupied by the situation in Afghanistan and in other pastoral issues
right now.
How will God answer in the day of trouble? Will I recognize it? Would it be better
for people of Afghanistan or me to be sacrificed in my day of trouble for a change
a real change to occur. I am not able to comprehend or rest it the comments that
condone what is happening.
Will God send help from the sanctuary in Haiti? I have worked in Haiti. It seems that
there has been no infrastructure for a long time. Would Jesus throw out the structures
and restore prayer? Would that make a difference
Maybe the clue is 'the heart's desire' in vs 4. Maybe our hearts desire things that
do not give us peace, contentment, joy.
