So we have all been cooped up through this pandemic.
How do we read Psalm 84 in this time?
The idea of being in the temple grounds all our days, celebrating God's
presence. Even the metaphor that the sparrows like to nest there seems
interesting but then sparrows can fly away from the temple or the coop when they
need to see something else.
The psalmist has found contentment and has joy in God's presence.
I think for some the curiosity of a pandemic has challenged the
willingness or the capacity to be content.
I think as well that praise is a challenge to the despair that the pandemic
and national scene has presented.
I challenge you to read this Psalm more than once and find our how
you praise God and what you can be doing in these days to find peace.
