Romans 12:18-21

Pretty confusing text. Live well with everyone, don't seek revenge
BUT feed your enemy when they are hungry, give them water
when they are thirsty, in so doing you heap burning coals on their head.
So what is revenge? Or what happens when you treat your enemy well?
Does acting with kindness for essentials really defeat evil with good?
I am thinking about the places that value different people in different ways.
I am thinking about groups that are not Christian who enforce their beliefs
on others. Actually Christians do that too.
This text will take some thought and prayer. Clearly I want to help those in
need whether they like me or not. But the image of kindness results in burning coals
on the head doesn't go together in my soul.
