Psalm 103:1, 104:1, 105:1
Thanksgiving is an interesting time. I lived abroad in Scotland for eight thanksgivings -who's counting?
One year I was a paid cook for a family and one year a few of us students got together and cooked it for the family joining in on the eating. Another year in Britain I was outside London with a family and they decided to do the thanksgiving menu. These are rich memories for me.
The Psalmist starts three Psalms with rich memories:
Blessing God deep in our soul with all that we are.
Blessing God because of how great God is.
Thanking God because of what God has done and letting God's works be known where ever we are.
The curious part of blessing and thanking is that they are not expensive things to do in terms of money
They are expensive because they take time and the more you are thankful the more time you can take being thankful.
