Silent Prayer of Preparation: The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.

Introit Grace alone which God supplies, strength unknown he will provide. Christ in us our cornerstone; we will go forth in grace alone. 2162

Call to Worship:
Christ walks in our midst, open our eyes to see him.
The Spirit of God discloses the truth about sin, righteousness and judgement.
May the truth set us free and may we know God better today.
Christ is risen! God is with us! Come, Holy Spirit!

Hymn Praise the source of faith and learning that has sparked and stoked the mind with a passion for discerning how the world has been designed. Let the sense of wonder flowing from the wonders we survey keep our faith forever growing and renew our need to pray. As two currents in a river fight each other’s undertow, till converging they deliver one coherent steady flow, blend, O God, our faith and learning till they carve a single course, till they join as one, returning praise and thanks to you, the Source. 2004 1, 4

Opening Prayer: (Unison) Holy and Gracious God, teach us to praise you first, trust you always and walk in your ways. (Please pray silently) Gracious God, forgive us all our sins, conscious and unconscious. Create in us clean hearts and ready spirits to follow you, in Christ we pray. Amen.

Assurance of Pardon
Our sins are forgiven by the life, death and resurrection of our Lord Christ!
In Christ we have life and peace in all its fullness!
Response: Ref: Change my heart, O God; make it ever true. Change my heart, O God; may I be like you.
You are the potter; I am the clay. Mold me and make me; this is what I pray. Ref. gr56

Come and fill our hearts with your peace. Alleluia.

Old Testament Lesson: Ezekiel 6: 11-16

Hymn All who hunger gather gladly; holy manna is our bread. Come from wilderness and wandering. Here, in truth, we will be fed. You that yearn for days of fullness, all around us is our food. Ref: Taste and see the grace eternal. Taste and see that God is good. All who hunger, sing together, Jesus Christ is living bread. Come from loneliness and longing.

Here, in peace, we have been led. Blessed are those who from this table live their days in gratitude. Ref: 2126 1,3
New Testament Lesson: Mark 2: 1- 12

These are the Words of the Lord: Thanks be to God

Sermon “So You Will Know” Rev. Stuart C. Buisch

Creed We trust in God the Holy Spirit, everywhere the giver and re-newer of life. The Spirit justifies us by grace through faith, sets us free to accept ourselves and to love God and neighbor, and binds us to together with all believers in the one body of Christ, the Church. The same spirit who inspired the prophets and apostles rules our faith and life in Christ through Scripture, engages us through the Word proclaimed, claims us in the waters of baptism, feeds us with the bread of life and the cup of salvation, and calls women and men to all ministries of the church. BSF

Hymn O Jesus, I have promised to serve Thee to the end; Be Thou forever near me, My Master and my Friend; I shall not fear the battle if Thou art by my side, Nor wander from the pathway if Thou wilt be my Guide. O Jesus, Thou hast promised to all who follow Thee That where Thou art in glory there shall Thy servant be; And Jesus, I have promised to serve Thee to the end— Oh, give me grace to follow, my Master and my Friend. B388 1,4
