Psalm 56

What time I am afraid I will trust in you. -that's my memory of a verse I memorized as a child.

Fear is all around us. What some hope for others are afraid of and what some are afraid of others are hoping for.

vs 1 the story of our lives for the last seven to eight months. I am trampled by masks, by social distancing, by not being able to see my loved ones

Yesterday I visited someone in the nineties that I have not seen in a while and they said, 'I suppose I can't hug you.'

Trampled by a virus we can't see, stay away from. All day long... all month long... soon all year long

vs 2 I have so many enemies. What happened to respect, where are the listeners, who wants to know what I think

who will let me think through a position on my own. Everyone is my enemy because I don't agree with everyone.

There is nowhere to be at peace.

If you wear a mask you get laughed at, if you don't and someone tells you you may get killed or die because of an altercation

CABIN Fever - i am sick of my four walls. Even my walls attack me.

Exalted One - the end of verse 2. Is God exalted? What does that mean in this season we are in? Is God greater than everything

Great - I don't need to wear a mask or social distance, God will keep me safe. Is that the Exalted One we worship, you worship.

The Exalted One I worship compels me to sit in God's Holy presence and praise. Compels me to trust but be wise. Compels me to pray but more listening

than talking prayer.

Whenever I am afraid, I put my trust in you-

in God, whose word I praise. I trust in God; I won't be afraid. (does that include election season?) What

can mere flesh do to me?

mere virus, mere mask, mere distance, mere____

Pray on

Stu
